I think this is reasonable. However, when I suggested this on CIX a lot of
people got upset. Let's have CTRL+U as Close Window and with Shift Close
All Windows (a sort of hide app).

Yes I did mean that, sorry for not being clearer.

I take your point, but I think that unless an operation is very dangerous
then Return should be OK and Undo should be cancel. People are getting
used to hitting Undo when they are not sure what's going to happen next.

Agreed, lets keep these but with CTRL instead of ALT.
